    French Vanilla Half & Half

You read it right. It’s a pretty amazing thing for sure. I walked to the fridge and grabbed the coffee creamer we had just bought a week earlier. Something told me that I wasn’t going to be satisfied with buying this specific kind. I’m typically a Coffee-Mate kind of girl. And the point at which you put it in your coffee you become a believer in the power of it. Not much is needed for your coffee. It’s a far cry from International Delight which I feel you need way more of. So when I walked into our local Stewart’s you can imagine my surprise to see this wonderful invention. It’s…

    Life with a Newborn

It’s amazing how exhausted you are over having a child. I don’t remember too much from my first. More of the reason that it was 8 years ago and less of the reas being how busy I was at the time. Even though I was entirely young and clueless. Jax was an unexpected emergency c-section. And Nev was natural. These two different experiences have completely shape-shifted how I feel about childbiurth. I don’t want anymore children. I have experienced both ways of having them, I have my boy and my girl, and they are absolutely wonderful. Recovery has become something of a soirée of sorts. I have tried my hardest…

    A New Food Journey

I couldn’t believe the number that was on the scale. I have always been a pretty athletic and have always had a decent idea of what it takes to maintain my ideal body. I was wrong. I had to get off the scale and step back on to make sure I read it right. The same number appeared… SOOO it’s time to do something about it. I spent most of today doing research on my diet for the next couple of weeks, and carb cycling, etc I am posting my meal plan, and I will be explaining everything about this plan very soon. Updates on everything will be weekly. BREAKFAST:…

    The Benefits Of Mustard Oil

“Give me your hand” She says.“Why?” I asked. She looked quite serious about it.“Because I want to show you something. I love your hair. Absolutely, I do. But I want to tell you a secret” She said, patting the bed and beckoning me next to her.I came and sat down, watching as she pulled a bottle of yellow liquid from her nightstand.“Mustard Oil” She said. She proceeded to explain to me how it was used. This Indian woman had the most beautiful black hair. Gorgeous skin color. She took the bottle of oil and poured a small amount in her hand. She then took my fingers and put them in the palm…

    NOLA was LOVE

I went to New Orleans this past weekend. For all intents and purposes, it was pretty interesting. I was told that if I had gone around the time that Mardi Gras was going on, then I would have had more fun than I already had there. What was interesting to me was the free-spiritied people that lived there. The houses were big, personalities from people around you were welcoming and although there was so much to do, I only had 5 days to enjoy myself. The sun was shining, and almost everyone was smiling. I live in New York. And to me, NY is so depressing. New York City not…

Only Fur Your Eyes To See

It was not too long ago that I challenged myself to go to one of my favorite Vintage shops here in Syracuse and come out with 1 item. I love this shop so much because of the wonderful things you can find there without the immense effort of searching. This lovely jacket was one of them…

A Side Of Royal Blue Please…

I walked into the Deb shop with a friend of mine and she could not believe the look on my face. I said “I am not completely convinced that I will find anything in here.”“Why?” she asked“Because I do not usually shop here. I mean look at some of these clothes…”“Just have faith that you will find something Elle” she says 10 minutes later I am at the checkout with this blazer in my hands, along with a gorgeous red one just like it. “$10.80” says the cashier“Oh wow…” I replyTo my amazement it was $5 for each of these blazers!! I did not look at the price of them. I…

You’re Not Really That Hungry Are You?

Jacket: Old Navy Activewear // Tights: H&M // Sneakers: Nike If you’re anything like I was a few months ago, you might have been in a rut. I had no idea where I was going when it came to fitness, and health. I know I loved to cook & learn new recipes; but portion control was a restraint I was lacking. Apparently so was the ability to ignore early morning cravings. I couldn’t pry my hands off of the refrigerator door at 3am. During the day was fine, but it was late night that was posing the problem. When the topic of weight loss comes up, not eating after 7 is a…

    Conforming to Thoughts

I spent a good majority of my life conforming to what others thought of me. It was never sincerely what I really wanted to do. My mom always had a very innate ability to sing better than Prince on any day. But when it came to me humming along to the tune in the car while we were driving somewhere, it never conquered. And when she told me that I had a beautiful voice, it quickly slithered in one ear and out the other. But with the most apparent thoughts at hand, I was able to continue agreeing that there was a talent that I possessed. I just wasn’t sure…

    It matters

Everyday is a reminder of how strong I truly am when it comes to this. I guess if the situation was handled by someone else, they would have allowerd the legos to fall a long time ago, said those 3 words and gotten carried away with emotions and careless actions. But I can’t let that happen. We are great at what we are and what he wants is what we are right now. The question of if and when we would be more has crossed my mind so many times my brain is numb. The fact that his smile could undress me is paramount. And the scent of his skin…
